About Brynn Gerl
Brynn Gerl is a multidisciplinary artist and designer originally from Eugene, Oregon, with a central focus on oil painting and graphic design. Graduating with her Bachelor of Fine Arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, her work bridges fine art and applied design, exploring both traditional media and digital platforms.
Brynn’s paintings and illustrations draw from personal narrative, nature, and viewer experience, often blurring the lines between fine art and community engagement. She has shown work in a range of exhibition spaces, including the Maude Kerns Art Center Eugene, Oregon, where she received the Mayor’s Choice Award, Art in the Park in Chicago, Illinois, and 2022 Art Bash Annual Exhibition at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her studies also brought her to study masterworks abroad in Florence, Italy, where she deepened her practice in classical art traditions.
In addition to her studio work, Brynn has contributed to diverse creative projects: from t-shirt and logo design to commissioned oil paintings, murals, digital greeting cards, and poster art. She has designed patterns for fabrics, illustrated for publications, and held an internship with a professional muralist. Her work in public art earned her a grant for mural design in South Eugene, and she has completed a series of commissioned murals to date.
Brynn's background includes exploration in interior design, architecture, and UX/UI, enriching her design approach with a spatial and user-centered sensitivity. Her technical skills span oil and acrylic painting, pen and ink illustration, and digital tools including Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and XD.
