Youth v Gov Environmental Mural

Created in Eugene, Oregon, I was assistant muralist to Esteban Camacho Steffensen in design and creation.

2018

This mural is inspired by the 2015 trial of Juliana v. the United States, in which young students sought to hold the government responsible for the environmental damage caused by its failed policies. It is the second in a series of murals focused on the issue of climate change. It uses the imagery of triangular puzzle pieces, which are painted to look like sedimentary rocks.

The central element of the mural features iconic and hopeful images of Eugene: Spencer Butte a sacred Landmark to Oregonians. This Mural reflects the beauty of the natural world we love, and on which our lives depend on for clean water, fertile soil, fresh air, etc. and for which we must all do our part to protect.
