The Overlooked
A Monochrome Texture Study
This project is a series of photographs exploring texture in the overlooked details of everyday life. As we move through the world, we often remain unaware of the intricate patterns and surfaces surrounding us. Created as a texture study within the Fashion program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, this series brings attention to the beauty found in the unnoticed.
Textile Impressions
Translating Texture into Stitch
As an extension of my photographic texture study, this project involved translating found patterns into textile form. Using square fabric swatches, I recreated overlooked surface textures through a variety of hand-sewn stitches. Each piece interprets the visual rhythm of everyday surroundings through tactile, stitched detail.
